Explored the forest ruin for the 3 legendary Crests which are said to unlock the entrance to the world tree.

This game was made over 1 month for the game jam Metroidvania Month #21 with the theme "Ruined".

Controls

  • Move - WASD, Arrowkeys
  • Jump - Space, Up
  • Map - Tab
  • Upgrade 1 - Shift
  • Upgrade 2 - Down
  • Upgrade 3 - ???
  • Fullscreen - F11

Also works on mobile!

Debug keys

  • Number keys 1-7 - Teleport
  • § - Gain all ability upgrades

Was it a conscious choice not to force the player to start over when they get hit?  Because it feels like a cut corner... that made the game better.  I was more into exploring and taking chances knowing I wasn't wasting time.  And that made me feel better about the limited field of view.

I'm glad you liked it! It started out as a cut corner, but when I played with it for a while I kind of liked it and decided to keep it.
